SUMMER CAMPS
JUNE - AUGUST 2019
Camp Description
Does your child enjoy solving problems on their own and finding creative solutions? Do they have an interest in technology and games? If so, then learning how to create and code programs will allow them to test and improve these skills.
Each day students will be introduced to new tools to build ever more exciting and engaging applications and games. Working both solo and in teams, students will apply these tools both on the computer and offline in different problem solving coding challenges and algorithm based games.
Grades
3rd - 5th
Students will start off their week coding in Scratch. The block based platform will allow students to begin thinking like a programmer. Once some familiarity is reached, campers will be introduced to Python. Challenges and projects will be tailored to the needs of students, such that campers feel goals are constantly achieved.
6th - 8th
Students will learn the tools of Python and all coding languages, including variables, conditionals, loops, functions, and more. With project-based learning students will utilize these tools to create interactive applications that challenge their minds and sharpen their creativity.
